FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does the auction process work?
Cars are auctioned by tender seven days a week. A written tender is submitted and forwarded to the owner.
- If it is acceptable, the car is sold at this price.
- If not, negotiations are undertaken to find a price acceptable to both parties.
This auction process has certain advantages over the traditional car auctions which can be daunting: there is always the fear of scratching your nose and inadvertently buying the most expensive set of wheels, or worse, an old heap of junk.
What makes Budget Car Auction different to most other auction centres? 1. Lowest Prices We have cars to suit all types of budgets with over 200 cars from $1000 plus. These cars often have reserves thousands of dollars below normal market price. Take a look at our Catalogue.
2. Friendly staff We realise it isn’t easy looking for a car to buy, but we believe we have the friendliest staff who are committed to making sure each customer is fully assisted from the time they arrive on the yard, till after they drive out in their new set of wheels.
3. No Pressure Unlike other auction centres, there is no pressure to buy now and certainly no hammer waving in the air pressuring people to bid beyond their budget. You are welcome to take your time and inspect the cars before hand and you don't have to cough up a lump sum if you do decide to buy either.
Where are the cars sourced from? We have a constant supply of used cars that are offered on behalf of major motor vehicle dealers.
Our fresh imports are supplied by Kilburn Cars Wholesale, if you buy a car supplied to us by Kilburn Cars Wholesale - it will come with an AA Appraisal, 3 year Warranty*, Oil & Filter change and Brett Kilburn's personal guarantee of quality. View the Kilburn Cars Wholesale stock here.
* Please note that with the 3 year warranty (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) does have an excess and claim limit as set by the insurer.
If I like a car, can I take it for a test drive? Test drives are welcome. For insurance purposes we do need to take a photocopy of your drivers licence and some contact details.
Can I trade in my car? Yes we can arrange something, bring your car in with you to one of our branches and we will go from there.
Are there any extra charges on top of the tender price? There are charges on top of the tender price. Please allow for these when you place a tender with us.
These are:
Buyers Premium………….$280 is payable on all cars bought via Tender. This guarantees ownership and that there is “no money owing” on the vehicle. It is not negotiable so please allow for this when you tender.
Unregistered Imports……..$375 is payable, which is additional to the buyers premium. This charge is for fresh imports only and includes plates and 6 months registration.
What methods of payment do you accept? We take payment by cash, bank cheque (sorry no personal cheques), eftpos, direct credit via internet banking or MasterCard/Visa.
